Tuesday, January 3rd, 2017 Ilhan Omar, was sworn into the Minnesota House of Representatives. I was inspired by this moment because of its historic, and current importance to ourcountries diversity. Ilhan came to our country as a refugee,and is both the first female Muslim and Somali-American legislator in the US. Her election into government shows an increasing acceptance in diversity.
