Client Brief: The SF Water, Power, Sewer Commission (SFPUC) wanted to collaborate with us at the California Academy of Sciences to create an animation and learning guide to teach elementary school children about what happens when you flush the toilet (also not to flush random items). We wanted something fun with branding that could carry across other print handouts they would produce.
Role: Art Direction, Character Design, 2d and 3d Animation
Process: Starting out we met directly with the Clients at their offices and traveled to the Southeast Treatment Plant. Here we learned about how the system works and I took a number of reference photos to later use to draw out everything. As this didn’t have a strict deadline it was more important for the Client that we acheived accuracy of all the moving elements while mantaining something that would be fun for children.
